Friday, August 11, 2017 Discipleship: The Road to True Wholeness through Intimacy with God Scripture: John 15:4-6  (ESV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. John 17:22-23  (ESV) The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Psalm 139:1-6  (ESV) 1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me! 2  You know when I sit down and when I rise up;    ...

Acts 3:19-21 (ESV) Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Matthew 24:40-44 (ESV) 40...

Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?” Genesis 1:1 (NIV) In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Psalm 104:1-24 (ESV) 3  When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4  What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Monday, July 31, 2017 Want to Want: Desiring to Hear the Voice of God (Inspired by Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster) Scripture: Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. Psalm 63:1-2 A Psalm of David, when he  was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Devotional: It has been three days my last post, and all weekend I have been vacillating between the choice to slow down and allow us to take time to marinate and simmer versus not belaboring the point of meditation in my daily devotional. I am fighting a little humor in the vacillation his morning as I share this, because the irony is that the need to meditate and the need to learn about meditation  requires meditation.
