Happy New Year! Monday, January 1, 2018
Monday, January 1,
2018
Good morning, and
may I be among the first to wish you a Happy New 2018! Welcome to this year,
hopeful travelers! I am blessed with the dawning of this new year, a new
opportunity to walk in God’s great and abundant life. As we step in together,
let’s take time to remember that this God we petition for our children and for
our homes desires our good! Not ever circumstance is good, and we will experience
trials as we walk this life. But….do not be mistaken! God is FOR YOU. He
desires your good, the good of your children, and the good of your home. Today,
ask the Lord to show you His abundance and goodness as you pray!
Scripture:
Psalm 65:11 (NLT)
You crown the year
with a bountiful harvest;
even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
John 10:10 (AMP)
The thief comes only
in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy
life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
Prayer:
Thanksgiving:
Father, I thank You
for this new day, this new year, and the crown of abundance You bring. This is
the DAY and the YEAR that You have made, and I rejoice in it and choose gladness.
I acknowledge my circumstances do not always feel good, but that in those
circumstances YOU are good always. I bless You, Holy Father, and celebrate with
joy!
Confession:
I bring my heart of
confession today to Your throne. I repent of trying to fix myself, any
condemnation that I have received, and ask that You will impart true repentance
and humility in this confession time. You are good and merciful and loving. I
receive Your mercy and lovingkindess today. (Take time to allow The Lord to examine
your heart and confess any wrong attitudes, sin, or destructive habits.)
Supplication:
I lift my needs to
You today. I ask You to intervene and remedy circumstances that are not right.
I ask for Your peace in the areas that bring worry, doubt, anxiety or fear. I release
these to You and ask for Your strength, courage, and wisdom. I thank You that
You desire my good. Help me to believe and accept this about You. (Take time to
journal needs, victories and progress. You will not be sorry! Make it a sincere
goal to journal a little each day in a prayer journal on your computer or in a
book. Any form is fine! Join those leaving a legacy of faith and answered
prayer. It only takes a little time each day and is amazing!)
Intercession:
I lift my children
to You today and thank You that You are in the center of all that concerns
them. I thank You that You are more concerned with their needs than I am. Help
me to continually lay them at Your feet for care and correction. I thank You
for giving me the joy and privilege of parenting them. Help me to parent them
well by Your Holy Spirit, and increase harmony and unity in our home each day.
(Journal needs, requests, and concerns for each child. Make note of progress,
victories, and answers to prayer. Don’t grow weary, friends, in seeking the
Lord for things that are taking a long time to change! God is faithful, and
remember He tells us to keep on asking, seeking and knocking (Luke
11:5-8, Luke 11:9-10). Persist
in prayer, and continue to lay your burdens at His feet each day! A little hint: I take time to pray for my
husband during this time as well 😊)
Thanksgiving and
Consecration:
Lord, I thank You
again for the newness of this year. I thank You for this time with You, and ask
that You will seal and protect our home and family. Let Your Kingdom come in a
new way this day and throughout this year, abundance flowing on our paths as we
set forth. You are good, and I praise You this day! In Jesus’ Name I pray,
amen!
Blessing and
Benediction:
Psalm 31:19
How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you.
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you.
May your new year be
fully crowned with the blessing of the Lord. Go in peace!
