Thanksgiving Day!
Thursday, November 23, 2017

Prayer:
Thanksgiving:
Good morning, Lord! I come to You this day with thanksgiving and honor. Glory to You, Lord, now and forever! This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, Lord. I bow at Your throne, great King of the Earth. I magnify You and lift You up. (Take time to list as many things that you are grateful for as you can.)

Confession:
I come to You will my heart and hands open, in full recognition of my need for You. I give my heart to You and ask that You will gently examine me and show me areas that need repentance and change. (Take time to confess to the Lord as He shows you. Mine today: Thank You that You have been showing me my reluctance to enter into play with my children. I ask that You will not only forgive me, Lord. I do ask Your forgiveness. I also ask that You will put in me a playful spirit and a willingness to play repetitively, particularly with my son. Forgive the selfishness that keeps me from focusing on this very real need. Help me to balance my responsibilities and be playful.)

Supplication:
I lift my circumstances and my concerns to You today.  I know that You are a good Father and want to bless us with good things. I come to You humbly asking for Your favor and blessing this day. (Lift needs, concerns, desires, dreams. Mine today: I pray that this Thanksgiving Day would be memorable. I pray that we will be able to build our family’s traditions in an organic way that creates memories for years to come. Help me to release perfectionism and embrace what is. I also pray for my emotions to be settled, and for the course of my weeks and months to be stable. For my business, help my husband and I to make some wise decisions in the planning and to be able to launch well.)

Intercession:
I lift my children to You today. I thank You for the honor of sitting in the position of parent in their lives. I ask that You will touch each one of our children with Your love and care this day. I pray that gratitude will flow in our home, and that You will place thanksgiving in their hearts. (Take time to journal victories, progress, concerns and needs for each child. For Chloe today: Thank You for her connected heart and beautiful creative imagination. I pray that You will instill a humble heart, obedient and teachable spirit, and the heart of a servant into her. Help me to model and demonstrate those character attributes to her. For Christian today: I pray for his bathrooming to continue to progress. I thank You that the needle is moving, but I do ask that You will cause a serious leap forward and that we will be able to put away pullups. I also ask for favor with our insurance and local pharmacy to fill the prescription we have with our doctor. I ask, too, that he will find joy in life. I ask that he will begin to use his backyard for play again, and be willing to jump on his trampoline independently. If he had an aversion, I pray You will heal it. Show us how we can facilitate without always needing to be right there doing what he is doing. We ask that You will help him to find independent activities. We also ask that You will help him to diversify his play.)

Thanksgiving and Consecration:
God, You are worthy. I thank You that You hear my concerns and care for us. We matter to You. Thank You so much! I pray that You are glorified in this nation today as we come together. Let hearts that are far from You draw near as we thank You for our many blessings. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, amen.

Blessing and Benediction:
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
