God Wants to Give You Understanding

Scripture:s
1 Corinthians 2:14-16
14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually  appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Matthew 13:11-17
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:5-8
10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

John 16:13-16
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. “A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me.”

Devotional:
I have been deeply meditating on “All I Have Is Christ,” a song that is meaningful to me on many levels. The more I dig in to God’s Word, the more I want to be boiled down and sifted down to the most basic level where all I have is Christ. All I know is Christ. All that matters…

Is Christ.

As I study God’s Word this morning, I am so thankful that through receiving Jesus Christ as my ransom, I have been also given the gift of the Holy Spirit Who lives in me. He is the One Who opens my spiritual heart and mind to understand the scriptures. God desires to reveal His Truth and His life to me. He doesn’t want me to be in the dark, lost, looking for my way.
There is a better way to live. Free from chains that hold us down, awakened to the life of God. We do not have to live hurt, lost, confused, and broken.

He wants to make His mind available to us. By His Holy Spirit, as we receive the gift of Jesus Christ to dwell in our hearts and lives.

There is no other answer. There is no other solution.

He is the Answer. He is the Solution.

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Today, if your heart is crying out to receive Jesus, know that He is standing at the door of your heart, knocking, gentle, waiting for you to receive Him. He is not angry with you. He is pleased with you. He desires to abide with you. He wants to show this to you.

He was the One Who created you. He knows you from the inside out. He knows your fears, anxieties, worries, regrets, and mistakes. It is a simple thing to simply…Open.

Prayer:
Father, I thank You for Your gift of salvation through the reality of Jesus Christ. Thank You that You gently pursue us, Lord. Thank You that You desire communion with us.

Today, I pray for any seeking You that You would reach in to hearts with Your love and pour it out in abundance. Make each aware of that deep need for You.

I lift up my child(ren) to You today. I ask that the truth of Your heart for them would be clear, powerful and permanent. Let them receive You, Lord, and let the Word be alive to them.

In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.

**If you desire Jesus to live in you, He wants to. Simply whisper this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I know I need You. Thank You for giving Your life for me. I recognize that I sin, I can’t hit the mark of perfection. I can’t do this alone. I need You. I desire that You live in me. Today, I open my heart and ask that You will enter and take the throne that is Yours. I release control over my heart and life to You. Open my eyes to understand. Teach me by Your Holy Spirit. Heal my heart from the hurts of this life. I give my life to You. In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.
