God’s Good Pleasure

Scripture:
1 Corinthians 2:9
…but just as it is written,
“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard,
And which have not entered the heart of man,
All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Jeremiah 29:11
“…For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Psalm 31:19
Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind!

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

James 1:12
Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

Devotional:
Oh, sisters (and brothers). God is so pleased with you!

It is hard in a world and culture where most of us are walking wounded from fathers who did not follow the pattern of Godly fatherhood. Our image of God is deeply connected to our image of our earthly father, and if he was absent, disapproving, disconnected, abusive, angry, or any other host of relational disappointments it is very difficult to see God the way He truly is.

Blessed are you when you remain steadfast under trial!

God has abundant goodness STORED for you!

God is at work in every situation as you press in to Him!

God is actively interested in your GOOD!

HE WANTS YOU.

He LOVES YOU.

He ….

likes you.

You are a precious gift, a daughter or son of the Most High God, and He does not distain reaching into your world and sitting next to you in the chair you are in. He is not too busy to hear your brokenhearted cries. He is not annoyed at your repeated prayer, day in, day out.

He is so enamored by you!

You can’t imagine his ideas of what He wants for you. He is Creator God, and he is excited by creating beautiful things in your life. Trust Him! He wants to recreate anything that is broken in your heart, life, and world.

Let him in, friends. He is there, He is real, and He has a great love for you.

He has an amazing heart for your children, too. He wants to work through you to bring forth incredible, God-ordained plans and purposes. Your child(ren) is (are) deeply precious to God. He holds them in His heart, and though it can be hard to believe or imagine it, even more so than we do. Eye has not seen, ear has not heard. Plans, for a future and a hope.

Prayer:
God, I thank You that You have my family in the palm of Your hand. You desire the best for us, and You have a view and perspective of what that is that goes beyond any understanding or idea that we might have. I ask today that I would have a fresh awakening to Your heart for us, Lord. Please remove any anxiety about our future and give me new eyes to see Your opinion of me and of my family.

I thank You that You have created me on purpose. I thank You that You have a plan and a good pleasure for me. I thank You that my child(ren) is (are) Yours, and that You have better ideas of their future than I could ever dream.

Ingrain this truth into my family today. Teach us to live  with Your Kingdom purposes in the forefront of our hearts and minds.

I lift up (area of need or concern) to Your throne this day and ask that You will provide clarity and answers as You will, but most importantly grant me peace to wait on Your answers.

In Jesus’ precious Name I pray, amen.
