Up From The Grave!

Scripture:
Luke 24:1-7
Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”

Revelation 1:17-18
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Devotional:
Oh, my goodness! I feel little butterflies in my stomach this morning! What a day. What a joy to be alive on this day when we celebrate HIS RESURRECTION! My heart is full, and I am so grateful for God’s amazing grace for us.

Growing up, in our family Easter was very special. Despite their struggles, my parents did indeed love the Lord. New dresses, family breakfast, a sunrise trek to the ocean with my dad’s guitar to celebrate the coming of the dawn, and without fail Sunday service.

As a mom, it is my heart to also build these memories, this sense of excitement into my family and if possible even more so. I pray that we would always have the incredible joy of knowing that by Jesus’ resurrection He has conquered the grave, and given us new life! We get to live with Him forever. Praise be to God! What a gift! I truly believe that as believers, though Christmas is a joy and should always be cherished, truly Easter is the day of days. His finished work has paved the way for us to have true freedom. And, if that same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us—He will truly give us life (Romans 8:11). Such a promise!

Celebrate Him today! He is Risen…in you!

Prayer:
Oh, Jesus, I am so grateful and overwhelmed that You have done this great and mighty work for us! It is a joy and a pleasure to serve You and Your people today. I pray that You would awake in us the excitement of what You have done for us.

Praises to You, God! You are mighty! You are awesome!

I lift up my family to You, Lord, and ask for this great joy to also be true in them. I bless you, God!

In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen
